Lithographs of Works by Leading Maritime Artists
Shoreline Framing’s Maritime Print Gallery features works by leading maritime artists:
Loretta Krupinski, a Connecticut native, is an award-winning maritime painter, avid sailor, and member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Marine Artists. Subjects in her work include lighthouses, such as Maine’s historic Monhegan Lighthouse.
Watercolorist West Fraser focuses on the beauty of nature; his work includes such subjects as marshes and beaches as well as such diverse locales as Marblehead, San Francisco Bay, Annapolis, Charleston, and Seattle.
A WWII Navy pilot, Robert Sticker studied at the Art Students League. He specializes in Revolutionary War and War of 1812 scenes, whaling scenes, and paintings of steamboats chugging along inland waterways.
Self-taught artist Raymond Massey’s work focuses on historical scenes, and paintings depicting China. He is being increasingly regarded as a major American maritime artist.
Thomas Hoyne, while in the Pacific Theater as a gunnery officer in WWII, gained quite an acquaintance with the sea. This knowledge informs his work, which beautifully captures the raw emotion of the ocean.
